Dori holds a degree from UC Davis in International Agricultural Development and has published two books illuminating the realities of U.S.-Mexico immigration, farm labor, mental health, homelessness, and cultural diversity in modern-day America. As a farm facilitator at River Road Farm in San MIguel and a mediator with Wilshire Community Services in San Luis Obispo, and loves empowering people to find creative solutions to the challenges we face.
Julie is a 5th generation olive farmer in Shandon, California. With established roots and a diverse array of connections in our local community, she serves with enthusiasm on the board of Common Ground Worldwide and offers her fundraising and event-planning skills to help the organization grow. Julie brings many years of experience as a parent, farmer, business owner, and volunteer with inmates at SLO County Jail.
Kathy worked as an English-as-a-Second-Language instructor at Cuesta College from 2001 to 2018, volunteers regularly with the local unhoused population, and serves on the board of People's Kitchen of San Luis Obispo. She previously worked as an ROP instructor for adults seeking job rehabilitation, and as CEO of the 501(c)3 ReachOut Afghanistan. Kathy raised her family in Paso Robles and has hosted 16 international students and teachers over the years. She is also a devoted mom and grandma!
As a veteran of the Bay Area restaurant industry and a chef for 20+ years, Erik has recently transitioned to a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle here on the Central Coast, where he has delved into volunteer endeavors and giving back to the local community. Erik believes that everyone deserves to be happy and wants to help those who are struggling to find the joy that is deep down in all of us.
Gilbert grew up in northern San Luis Obispo County, is trained and certified in Permaculture Design, and looks forward to implementing the principles of this holistic approach at Common Ground's therapeutic community farm. As a dedicated long-time volunteer, he helps to maintain Common Ground's educational community garden in Paso Robles.
Salisa grew up in Atascadero, California, in a large family that highly valued the arts and community involvement. With a strong desire to practice harmonious, symbiotic, and conscious living, Salisa is passionate about helping Common Ground Worldwide create places of healing and growth in our local community.
Gloria studied philosophy and Permaculture design at UC Santa Cruz, and currently works in local public schools as a Garden Education Manager. Through her experience facilitating student groups and directing community theater, she's seen how people thrive in an inclusive community environment, and she enjoys bringing the arts and opportunities for creative expression into Common Ground's programs and activities.
Kevin is currently completing his studies to serve as a Physician's Assistant in medically underrepresented areas. In his spare time from school, he helps to manage River Road Farm in San Miguel and to lead intern and volunteer work-days. Kevin enjoys sharing this place of serenity and positivity with others.

Reverend Cynthia Rae Eastman is a former high school teacher and an ordained interfaith minister. She founded and incorporated Common Ground Worldwide in California in 2007.
